SYNOPSIS

The Rockin’ Dead: Enter Popacalypse is an animated, action comedy set in a post pop-alyptic wasteland. Radios worldwide have turned humanity into mainstream, pop music listening zombies, led by the evil Manager. The only heroes left in this world are rock road warriors like Killjoy and Badwolf. Together they ride through the mainstream wasteland, killing pop zombies, and keeping rock and roll alive!

DIRECTOR'S BIOGRAPHY

James Ishizaki is a recent graduate from the University of Hawaii with a degree in animation. He is from Lana`i City, Hawaii, and currently living in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is recently known for his short film, The Rockin’ Dead (2014), featured at the 2014 Hawaii International Film Festival. The film also showed at the 2015 ACM Spring Showcase and was nominated for Best Character Animation and Best Animation. It won 3rd place for the ACM Audience Award.

His talents are versatile, featuring character design, character animation and backgrounds. The Rockin’ Dead is a thrilling adventure of music and zombies featuring Julian Leon as the guitar-slinging hero, Killjoy and features Hawaii Local Rock Band EMKE singer Kira Santos as the savvy heroine, Badwolf. The short is produced and directed by himself. His other credits include lead animator the animated short, Sunny and Cloud.

"The Rockin’ Dead: Enter Popacalypse" is a culmination of his first animated short, The Rockin’ Dead", and the highly anticipated sequel and thesis film, "The Rockin' Dead: Part Deux". Although the thesis film was intended as a sequel, upon its completion, James decided to combine the two shorts, and instead of releasing "Part Deux", the film became "The Rockin’ Dead: Enter Popacalypse."
